Dr. De La Cruz trained in Internal Medicine at Raritan Bay Medical Center in New Jersey, in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital and Queens Hospital Center, and in Sleep Medicine at North Shore-Long Island Jewish Hospital. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease, Critical Care Medicine and Sleep Medicine, and is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians and of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
Dr. De La Cruz is an active participant in the Internal Medicine residency program, teaching residents and students during their rotations in the Critical Care Unit and the Pulmonary Consultation Service. He has a special interest in diseases such as sepsis with shock, acute respiratory failure, asthma, COPD, obstructive sleep apnea, obesity hypoventilation syndrome and narcolepsy. He is fluent in Spanish.
