Dr. Ferman graduated from the Johns Hopkins University with a B.A. in Biology. She was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society and graduated with General Honors. She graduated from the New York University School of Medicine. She completed a residency in internal medicine at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, where she was the recipient of the Humanism and Professionalism Award. She completed a fellowship in hematology/oncology at North Shore University Hospital. She is the author of two book chapters on thrombocytopenia. She supervises the adult Sickle Cell Program at QHC. Her clinical interests include cancer prevention, solid tumors, and benign hematology.
