Debra J. Brennessel, M.D.

Dr. Brennessel received her Bachelor of Arts degree magna cum laude from New York University and her medical degree from the NYU School of Medicine. After completing her Internal Medicine residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, she completed an Infectious Disease fellowship at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Dr. Brennessel has served QHC in many roles, and is presently Associate Director of the Department of Medicine, the Director of the Department of Ambulatory Care and Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Training Program. Dr. Brennessel is certified in both Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases, and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the Infectious Diseases Society of America. Dr. Brennessel is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and Adjunct Associate Professor at both the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and St. George’s University School of Medicine.

Dr. Brennessel participates actively in medical student and resident teaching and in clinical research projects that have led to many publications and presentations.
