Dr. Ghullamullah Shazad, a native of Pakistan, earned his medical degree from the Dow University of Health Sciences in 1998. Upon relocating to the United States, he completed his residency in internal medicine at the VA Bronx at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and Staten Island University Hospital in 2008, followed by his fellowship in gastroenterology at the Nassau University Medical Center in 2015 and advanced fellowship from Sunny Downstate Medical Center. A Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), the Dr. Shazad attained board certification in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology & Hepatology through the American Board of Internal Medicine. Additionally, he is the CEO of Intercity Gastroenterology in Fresh Meadows, New York. Intercity Gastroenterology provides diagnosis and treatment for gastrointestinal conditions, abdominal pain, constipation, peptic Ulcer, Gastritis, Difficult in swallowing, GERD, H pylori, Barrett’s esophagus, Celiac disease, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, Inflammatory diseases, Irritable bowel disease, diarrhea, Polyps, and wart’s and rectal bleeding.
Dr. Shahzad has been involved in training medical residents as well as medical students from various background and from many parts of the world. Dr. Shahzad has been working with many United stated based NGOS to work in rural and urban areas of Pakistan. Currently, his interest is to establish educational support and training centers across Pakistan for mentally challenged populations of all age groups (kids and adults with Autism, Cerebral palsy and other neurodegenerative disorders) to bring them in mainstream and live independently or with minimal support.
